WHAT WE DO

From Renaissance trompe l’oeil to faux concrete

Gaby and Emma’s rigorous training has equipped them with the practical and artistic skills required to execute a range of paint effects:

From Renaissance-style trompe l’oeil, graining or marbling, to more contemporary finishes such as soft, swirling plaster or faux concrete.

Before founding Rag Arts, Gaby and Emma worked alongside conservator Kim Reczek for DBR Conservation on the restoration of important monuments. These included the re-gilding of the Chapel at St Thomas’s Hospital in London and the restoration of the Queen’s Robing Room, at the Palace of Westminster.

Working on these major projects has introduced them to a wonderful network of conservators, specialist crafts people and highly-skilled artisans. They all contribute their unique talents to Rag Art’s varied projects.

They can use the same skills to restore antique furniture or transform lacklustre objects with inventive paint finishes in their workshops in Amsterdam and south London.
